Description
The Ultimate Austria Tour is the ideal journey for those who want to experience the very best of the Austrian Alps. From the majestic peaks of Tyrol to the glacial landscapes of the High Tauern and the wild, emerald-green mountains of Carinthia, you'll discover the many faces of Austria's alpine wilderness.
Our journey begins in the Zillertal, where we hike to the legendary Berliner Hütte and cross an ancient mountain pass linking Austria and Italy. Trails wind through dense spruce forests before emerging above the tree line, where waterfalls, rugged peaks, and glaciers dominate the horizon. To complete the Tyrolean experience, we'll enjoy a traditional evening of regional cuisine, music, and yodeling.
The High Tauern, a vast mountain range near Salzburg, are a hiker's paradise. Home to Austria's highest peaks and largest glaciers, the Hohe Tauern National Park protects one of the richest concentrations of alpine flora and fauna in the Eastern Alps. We'll stand face-to-face with the legendary Pasterze Glacier and travel along the famous Grossglockner High Alpine Road, one of the world's most spectacular mountain drives.
Carinthia surprises even seasoned travelers. Far from the crowds and large mountain resorts, we'll discover the quieter, lesser-known side of the Austrian Alps. Limestone peaks, crystal-clear mountain streams, unspoiled forests, and flower-filled meadows create landscapes of remarkable beauty, while the peaceful atmosphere makes it feel as though you've stepped into a nineteenth-century painting.
