Mont Blanc Massif
Europe's highest mountain anchors a world-class walking region around Chamonix. The Tour du Mont Blanc — 170 km through France, Italy, and Switzerland — starts here.
Mont Blanc (4,808 m) is the highest point in the Alps and in all of Europe west of the Caucasus. The mountain draws alpinists from around the world, but for walkers, the real prize is the Tour du Mont Blanc — a 170 km circuit through three countries that circumnavigates the entire massif on well-marked trails.
We offer both the complete TMB (typically 10–12 days) and shorter, best-of selections for those with less time. Key highlights include the Aiguilles Rouges traverse above Chamonix with views straight across to the Aiguille du Midi, the Col de la Seigne into Italy, and the Swiss Champex valley.
Chamonix itself is one of the great mountain towns — a buzzing international community with exceptional restaurants, a rich mountaineering history, and the Aiguille du Midi cable car (Europe's highest at 3,842 m) offering jaw-dropping views across the Vallée Blanche glacier.
