Description
Zermatt is one of Europe's great alpine destinations, a car-free village at 1,620 m that sits at the foot of the Matterhorn — the most recognised mountain silhouette in the world. Our Zermatt program focuses on the trails and viewpoints that bring you face-to-face with this iconic peak from every angle.
Highlights include the Five Lakes Walk, the Gornergrat ridge with its panorama of 29 peaks over 4,000 m, the Schwarzsee plateau directly beneath the Matterhorn's north face, and optional glacier walks on the Gorner Glacier.
Zermatt is also a gateway for more ambitious adventures — acclimatisation treks before a Matterhorn attempt, or routes leading into remote side-valleys. We tailor each day to the group's goals.
And if you think the Matterhorn is the only iconic peak in this part of the Alps, wait until you see the Weisshorn, the Dom, the Dufour and the other giants of Zermatt .
