Difficulté et condition physique

The Ultimate Tatras Tour is suitable for a wide range of hiking abilities. Experienced and moderate hikers can explore the higher, more remote parts of the range, while those seeking a gentler pace can enjoy comfortable valley walks through the Tatras' spectacular scenery.

Où dormir

Enjoy a memorable stay in traditional wooden hotels built in the legendary Zakopane style, where warm hospitality, modern comfort, and hearty regional cuisine come together to create an authentic eastern-European mountain experience.

Description

The High Tatras are the only true alpine mountain range in Eastern Europe — compact, dramatic, and rising abruptly from the surrounding lowlands to peaks over 2,600 m. Marked by a colder climate than the Alps and a nature that still feels untouched, hiking here feels like a true journey into wilderness.

Our Ultimate Tatras Tour spans across the Polish and the Slovakian side of the range, following the finest trails and leading you to the most spectacular landscapes the two countries have to offer. The ridge that marks the Polish-Slovak border is the spine of this range, and walking along it offers one of the most exhilarating high-level experiences in the region. The Valley of the Five Lakes is a pristine environment of high altitude meadows, gigantic boulders and glacial lakes. The Green Lake Valley in Slovakia is a unique natural wonder. And throughout our journey, we will be surrounded by the immense, almost endless woodlands that stretch across the lower reaches of this mountain range. Wildlife sightings will be a daily occurrence.

We base ourselves in the Polish mountain town of Zakopane and in the Slovakian Strbske Pleso, taking the best walking from both sides. The mountain refuges (schroniska in Polish, chaty in Slovak) are a highlight — atmospheric huts with great food and genuine mountain culture.
