Description
The Bernese Oberland is home to the most famous triumvirate in Swiss alpinism: the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Our program takes you along the base of these legendary north faces through flower-filled meadows, past impossibly blue lakes, and into the historic villages of Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen.
The Eiger Trail is a particular highlight — a protected cliff-edge path running directly below the 1,800 m north face that made Eiger history. You walk in the footsteps of the climbers whose stories defined modern mountaineering.
We also hike to the Bachalpsee, arguably the most spectacular view in the Alps, and explore the high plateau above the valley: Männlichen, Kleine Scheidegg, and the Schynige Platte alpine garden. Optional: a rail excursion to the Jungfraujoch at 3,454 m, the highest railway station in Europe.
The Bernese Oberland is where the Alps reach truly superb beauty.
