Descrizione
Far from the celebrated valleys of Tyrol and the Dolomites, deep in the heart of Austria, lie the Alpine regions of Upper Austria and Styria. This is a quieter, lesser-known side of the country, where rugged mountains, pristine lakes, and timeless villages remain largely untouched by international tourism.
As its name suggests, the Deep Austria Tour ventures into the very heart of the Austrian Alps, revealing landscapes few overseas travelers ever experience. It is a journey for explorers and true lovers of the mountains, rewarding curiosity with some of Austria's most authentic and unspoiled scenery.
Visit Hallstatt, the fairy-tale village on the shores of the homonymous lake, then explore the enchanting mountains surrounding it, where ancient forests, glacier-carved rock formations, and panoramic hiking trails await the curious wanderer. Continue south into the wild Dachstein Massif, a spectacular limestone range whose dramatic cliffs, panoramic mountain trails, and breathtaking Dachstein Skywalk reveal some of the Alps' most remarkable scenery. Beyond the Dachstein, discover the peaceful valleys of Styria, where nature and time seem to have stood still for centuries. Dense forests, crystal-clear lakes, and flower-filled meadows stretch beneath elegant limestone peaks, creating an atmosphere of remarkable tranquility.
And by the time you reach the Grosser Priel region at the north-eastern edge of the Alps and see the jagged peaks reflecting into the water of Lake Schafkogel you will feel as though you have long left the outside world far behind. Head deep into Austria, you’ll be surprised.
